Hepsetus Odoe (African Pike) max size???

I have always been told they seldom get to anything over a foot...... The guy I got mine from claims he had one that was close to 14 inches.

Lets here some opinions..........

I know mine aren't showing any signs of slowing down...... Although they do seem to be gaining alot more girth now instead of length.

i've seen some at 16 inches before.
theyre supposed to get to 28 inches in the wild.
but i think anything over 18 is already a miracle.

Sux big time that they only live 5 years..... Something I had heard but didn't really believe till reading it on every site I visited for info.

biggest pikes ive ever seen!
but that was a few months ago.

they useually don't get much bigger then 12'' in captivity but are said to commonly get 24'' in the wild

Ad it is also believed they have a short life span in captivity but i haven't seen much info to support this
