Hepsetus odoe life span

Hey,
Since Hepsetus odoe/ odoe pike seem to be decent tank mates for bichirs and a fish store in Czech is offering some fairly large specimen for 40 Euro per specimen I might consider getting one for the 6.5ft tank.
I remember some years ago I was interested in this species but read that they tend to not live that long.
So before putting one on the list of fish I am ordering I want to ask the people keeping this species about the average life span of those beautiful characins.

At least that.
Sampling in the wild yielded that age, but the authors conceded that the larger specimen wouldn’t have gotten caught by their seining method. And indeed, the fish they caught were not full size compared to individual catches by rod.
