please recommend ideal tankmates for my Hepsetus odoe. only those with H. odoe experiences please. thanks so much.

Some of the less aggressive cichlids, Catfish,bichirs,rays. Most bottom dwellers are good. The main thing is dont mix them with fish that look similar to them or they will beat the crap out of them for instance African tiger fish, baracudas, bala sharks, arowanas and any other fish that looks like them. Also obviously no fish that can eat them or vice versa. The one i had a while back had a deep hatred of arowanas so avoid those. I kept it with some frontosas, bichirs,pbass,dats, and had it once with a wallago attu for a while. Hope it helps and good luck.
so basically, avoid top dwelling, torpedo shaped, silver/silvery, type of fish. i'm assuming that eels and other eel-like fish are totally safe with them...?
yea im sure eels and such will do good...just avoid torpedo shaped shiny fish like you said. like I31 said, unless the aro is much larger, dont try it. Ive seen it done where the aro was around 2 ft and the pike was only around 10 inches...so its possible.
African Tiger Fish, Freshwater Barracuda or Payara of the same size would look good together in the same tank...
i don't have the guts to put it in the main grow out tank yet so i'ts staying in a 20 long temporarily. it is just 4" long but consumes 5 medium sized mollies a day.
I kept mine with 3 endlicheri and a pair of albino convicts. It likes to pick fights with the convicts. I was always rather worried that the endlicheri might snack on my odoe, he was rather small when i got him, now hes growing quickly.
