hepsetus odoe plus pike cichlid???

hi,could the above work????

not sure what pike cichlid though.they are at my lfs.

tank is a 100 gallon with the following

1 x 8 inch senegal
1 x 4 inch delhezi
1 x 5 inch odoe
2 x 4 inch jack dempseys

yes that would be fine. they wouldnt even be interested in one another and odoe hangs at top and pike cichlid at bottom. i had a odoe and pike cichlid together in a 75 for quite sometime.
 
dont agree here. odoes have the habit to attack similar shaped fish as they see these as competition. I have no exp with odoes but a friend of mine has and i see his almost every day. it was in with a fw barracuda and that fish had no life. his odoe is not a top fish at all and is more mid water and lower parts. there it will surely encounter the cichlid and as the odoe grows, it will probably attack.
 
pike cichlids are pretty territorial and will not let the odoe attack it. a pike cichlid will outgrow a odoe and is probably more powerful then the odoe but the pike cichlid doesnt usually attack fish for no reason but if provoked he will nab back just to show he isnt to be pushed around. thats my experiences with pike cichlids as long as u dont have a 6 inch odoe and a 3 inch pike cichlid there shouldnt be a problem. but anything could happen in the world of fishkeeping.:)
 
man go for it mine do great togther in a 120g and my brothers works well togther in a 150g tank.
 
I have fw barracudas and a pike cichilid together and they are fine...never had a problem.....this would be a very similar situation...should work.....
 
slight change of plan.all cichlids gone as they were a nightmare.this is my current stocking

1 x 8-9 inch senegal
1 x 4 inch delhezi
1 x 4 inch ornate
1 x 5 inch hepsetus odoe

what else could i add????my lfs has some more odoes in about the same size.could i add another one?????

if you want multiple odoes then you have to get more than 3 cuz if you just get one more it will get killed since your current one is already settled in the tank....ive tried adding another one after i had an established one and the new one was nearly killed the first 5 minutes it was in the tank....i say if you want more then get more then 3 :) just my opinion....GL with your fish..
