Hepsetus odoe shoal or solo

After 15 years of keeping ca cichlids thought i would have a change, thinking about getting Hepsetus odoe for my 180 gal just not sure which is best solo or a group with a few synodontis decorus or plecs

I have never kept more than two odoes at a time but I heard from others that they do very well in small groups.

Either way is find but I prefer a group

You'll get different claims, like I've had a good experience with mine as a solo, while DB wouldn't keep his solo, he keeps groups and doesn't have good experience other wise, though his set ups are obviously different then mine. Your set up will influence how he acts. But if you are going to have the odoe as the main focus of the tank I'd say get a small group of maybe 4 or 5 for a 180.
