Its about time I sell this pair. Was gonna breed this pair out this Jan 2010 for some fry so I can grow the fry in a pond summer 2010, but plans are changing. I really dont want to sell this pair, but I do need the money to invest elsewhere for now.
I have had this pair for about 1 year since fry. From Jeff Rapps line. This is a breeding pair. Bred for me numerous times, but I just never kept many fry due to space. I probably kept only one batch so far. Both are fertile and the female does lay clutches of 1000 eggs. The pearls change color depending on mood and food.
The female is skittish. The male is a more open. Both are healthy.

Took this pic over summer. Male was skinny.
But as you can see, he can bulk up. This was taken a while ago when I fed him a diet of massivores, beef heart, and hikari gold.
This is a pic of the pair last winter around Jan or Feb 2009. Thats the female. Her colors are better than the male IMO.
