I have no idea why Iot love saltwater so much but I would much rather get a saltwater ray. Has anyone hear kept one? I'm not sure If I will set up a tank for saltwater rays but its definatly something I'm looking into. I'm more experinced with saltwater so it probably would be better what do you guys think?

125- 175 long aquarium

red sea protien skimmer

2-3 max jet 900 power heads

Low watt lights

about 10-20 lbs of live rock

60 lbs of live sand

strong Canister filter

(again just an idea Im not sure if Ill set a tank like this up)

Thanks,

-Tom

cali ray looks mint...

With stingrays, I personally would shoot for a wider tank more than longer, and add a LOT more live sand to that potiential setup. Rays enjoy burying themselves, and it would also help keep beneficial bacteria. Just my .02.

I don't know much about saltwater rays however I do know a lot about saltwater. I personally would spend the money on a better skimmer. I have rarely met anyone who has been saticfied with the red sea skimmers. I would minimally go with a CPR Bak Pak or 2.

all i know is the blue spots can be a b*tch to keep alive, whether you know what youre doing or not

Those electric rays are really cool in person, my LFS got a female in before and it was pregnent and it actually gave birth in the store, but both pups were still born, but fully developed.

I don't think they would be all that hard to keep if you are good at salt water. Probably the same principles apply to salt as fresh.
