i just got my armatus to settle down with my wolffish. My wolffish is starting to explode in size.. He is now 5.5 inches and VERY fat and greed. My wolf and armatus don't get along. This morning, I found out that my armatus got injured in a fight last night. His tail fin is split in 2 places. Once is fairly deep. Also his anal fine has some thick cuts. i've seen some picks where the splits never 'stick" together so the taila looks like a tail of a goldfish.

Will the fins heal like normal? From my experience, armatus are super lousy fin growers. They never grow back the same if the fins are super damaged, especially the anal fins. Thankfully, my armatus' fins aren't extremely injured.

From any experience, How long does it take to grow back? I sadly going to sell my wolf then.

Can't say for certain but my armatus has had it's tail fin split all the way down and bit healed...Did you remove the wolf?

Should heal up back to normal eventually unless the damage is too extensive. Iv seen half missing tails completely grow back and some slightly deformed after such an incident.

hopefully he'll be fin. nothing major.

Mine gets cracks in his caudal fin from time to time, always heals up fine ... I've got an issue with mine again as well, seems goonch made another move at him, biting him from underneath, and in his attempt to escape he hit his back on some wood and broke his dorsal fin in half ... seems to be healing though, almost like the fin is gluing itself back together then hopefully it will regrow ... been almost a week, I'll try and get some pics tonight ... so annoying, the cat doesnt bother anyone else just the Armatus, which of course is my most fragile fish! Just my luck, story of my life ... keep us posted on how yours heals and I'll do the same

Mine broke his dorsal fin almost in half too just over a month ago. I accidentally spooked him at night walking too close to the tank. Its healed up perfect aside from the base of the dorsal where it seems to be slightly thicker now, i assume slight scar tissue.
