I just got my dalmation mollies today 2 males 6 females. Ready to start breeding. At the LFS they are in pure freshwater. Will they breed the same or do I need to put in Salt. If I do need to put in the salt how much for a 10 gallon?

Mollies will breed in both fresh and saltwater. If they were in freshwater at the store and you keep freshwater tanks, then stay with fresh. As for adding salt, mollies tend to fare better when aquarium salt (not salt water salt) is added to the water. I believe it is one tablespoon per five gallons, but I could be mistaken.

About 2 spoonfulls of aquarium salt for ten gallons, they really like it. With six females you might want to consider getting another ten gallon or maybe a five gallon for the babies, if you don't have one already. You will have dozens of babies very soon.
