My Oscar tank was in it's prime. My babies I bought tiny were young adults we can say. I had a pair of Peach Faced Lovebirds. They decided to produce babies. I am happy. Babies hatch, Mom's fine, babies okay too. Three days later, I am feeding at the Oscars, then the Male(Blake) starts screaming his alarm call and starts flying all over cage while still sounding the alarm. I rush to him, he keeps alarming and is still very upset. I kook in the nest and the Wife is trying to kill the babies. I mean she has been drawing blood. I get the babies out, Blake quiets down. I have to hand raise the babies. I got the babies fully covered in the feathers and healthy. Taught them how to fly too. Then it happens

. My baby bird does

thing. He flies off my shoulder and lands on the rim of the OSCAR Tank. He sits there singing!!!

The BIGGEST OSCAR(7 INCHES) IS UNDER HIM LINING THE BIRD UP FOR THE STRIKE!!!!

I am calling the "LITTLE ONE" but he wants to sing and have his eyes closed. Birds do this after a good bath or a full stomach before they take a nap. I was on the other side of the room. I knew I couldn't get to him fast enough I am calling him as I dive over the bed. He is still singing

Just as I reach out for the bird.....BOOM... POW...SPLASH

THE OSCAR GRABBED THE TAIL AND PULLED THE BIRD IN.

IT GETS WORSE!!!!

The BIG OSCAR FLEES BUT THE OTHERS HAVE LOCKED THE BIRD SPLASHING ALL OVER THE TANK IN THEIR SIGHT!!!!

i AM TRYING TO CATCH THE BIRD AND HE GETS AWAY EVERY TIME I TOUCH HIM(YEAH, HE'S STILL IN THE WATER) THE BIG ONE GETS CONFIDENCE AGAIN AND ALL 3 ARE COMING AS A PACK FOR THE BIRD.

I SCOOP THE BIRD UP AS THE PACK CHARGE. THE BIG ONE CAME OUT THE WATER AND FELL BACK. "LITTLE ONE" WAS CHIRPING LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED...AND WHY ISN'T THERE A

LID ON THE TANK!!! LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO TELL ME I ALMOST DIED!!! I HAD TO DO A LOT OF COMFORTING BEFORE HE WENT TO SLEEP IN MY ARMS
Step dad said I didn't need one, that's why... The bird never flew in the direction of the oscars ever again.

I bet and hope that no one has story like this.
