Ok, Here's a very rough graph for my DIY tank.

So your going to have a wood bottom?

The wood will be under the glass. Without the aluminium, the bottom will be 1 1/4" thick.
With the aluminium, the bottom will be 2 1/4" thick.

What is your full tank stand going to look like? Since your at the crappy paint job, can you draw a pic of the tank stand and canopy if you plan to have one.

HAHA, we are in the planning process right now, so hopefully we can get this going. I too will be building a new tank.
