75 gallon tank
2 whisper 60 filters
2 300w heaters

and I'm just a lil curious how many people have bought some of their more expensive supplies online?

Whisper filter stink !!! Go with an Eheim 2217 ... And Yes you can buy them on-line

Whispers are ok as long as they are used for what they are designed for, trapping debris and chemical filtration. They will do a great job at those functions. They don't however process waste very well, that's where people get into trouble when using them by them selves. (same for basically all HOB's aquaclear, penguuin, etc.)

the price was right for the heaters...2 of 'em for less than what I'd pay for 1 at the LFS

I hear ya there, even w/ shipping most things are a helluva lot cheeper online.

tetra tech makes big HOBs that do all three, bio, chemical, and mechanical. they have like a tide pool in them, its cool, i have a 300pf on my 29 gal and it works great, but its $10.00 to replace the filters.
