I have a female Herichthys carpintis Escondido and a Herichthys carpintis male. Is the "electro blue gene" passed on to the F1 generation? How many individuals will have this gene?

Electric blue carpintis is line bred from what I've heard. I don't think you would get electric blue from crossing 2 carpinte from different locations. But I can be wrong.

Thanks for your reply. And what if a female Herichthys carpintis Escondido breed with an unfaded RT male. Will the F1 generation get an "electro blue" gene from a female? Is this gene recessive or dominant?

I am not familiar with electric blue being any kind of line bred morph. It is mainly used as a description to differentiate between carpintis and cyanoguttatus for novice cichlid keepers, since carpinte are sold as Texas for some reason.
Crossbreeding pearly fish can have lots of results as you know. Total pearl interruption or double pearled, even complete body covering like a thai silk.

Correct. It seems that some vendors are selling their carpintis with additional "electric" added to the name to add the sexy factor. Apparently it works.
