Hi there to everyone reading this.
Although I've been keeping fish for some time, I'm new to the cichlid's.
I have a 80 gallon cycled aquarium with:
2 Herichthys carpintis (1 male 1 female),
2 Green terrors (1 male 1 female),
1 Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps
I do weekly 20% water change and an extra gravel cleaning once a week.
The amonia level is 0.
Nitrite level 0
Nitrates about between 30-40
The filter performance is about 220 gall/hour.
There are hiding places set up in the tank, and there are also 7 anubias barteri plants in there.
The male carpintis and terror are about 5 inch long now (the females are smaller), the gibbiceps is about 10 inch long.
I had the tank set up for a couple of months, and there was no problem with the fish.
Then a few days ago the male carpintis started to behave in a really aggressive way, chasing everyone in the tank, especially the female carpintis.
He made a ripped a bit here tail. Then i noticed 2 small dots on the upper fin of the female carpintis, on one side and 3 small dots on the same place on the opposite side.
I never had similar problem with any fish so I have no clue what it could
I'm really worried!
Hope you can help!
Thanks

I've had midas get these, as far as I can work out its like scare tissue and will eventually go away after a few months. It's not pretty and some last alot longer, another reason I sold my Wyckii catfish, my cichlids seemed to have dozens of these Un sightly bumps.
