tank mate for one of these bad boys?:headbang2

I couldn't see it living with other cichlids peacefully in that size tank. Maybe passive or dwarf cichlids could work, but it's a gamble. It really depends on the particular fish. Polypterus, clown loaches, larger danios, and some species of catfish would be a good choice. (plecos, pictus, etc...)

I'd buy a second carpintis and breed them.

A female with a partial divider, that's about it. Mine started to become very destructive as he got larger. Nothing like watching a 9-10" fish smash clay pots into the aquarium glass ;) No way would my male share a 75g with anything else! I guess with enough rocks and driftwood, you might get away with something, but you'd be cutting down on the available swimming space of the escondido. My male, bought as a 1" fish in summer 2004, is around 11" total length... maybe a little more.

i'd buy something to bread it with.
red terror's will give you a brown or red base pigment
with normal carpintis scales.
mine looks fanom!
i can bread mine with like flowerhorns, super reds, carpintis.
i want to bread this cause i have like 1 of the last 2 left alive!

I'd bread those in lemon juice and bread crumbs. Why not just breed it with it's own species?

you go right ahead and bread yours in lemon juice and bread crumbs!

and i would bread it with it's own species, but i'd also bread it with another cichlid
because you may come out with something incredible and special but other
times you come out with a mistake.
