Thought I'd share some pics of my texas cichlid, and how it has grown over the last 19 months.

Taken within the week that I bought him in April of 06.

Taken roughly one month later.

Not sure about the time gap between these two pics, but it had obviously been a while. I'd say atleast 5 months.

One very nice fish. What size is it none? What tank size do you have it in?

He is right around 7-8 inches, and currently is in a 125g tank.

Thanks for the compliment, and yes I am very proud of this guy!

Awesome Texas. Actually have been thinking about getting one myself. Love that pic where he's trying to eat the worm....been there with my juvies too. Very cool :headbang2

That's a nice looking Texas. Looks like you got some good growth rate on it as well.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. :D

thats a nice Texas. nice teeth hes got, looks like he would pack a nasty bite

He has bitten me before, and it didn't feel good. It drew blood, but was nothing serious.

His growth rate has been pretty steady. Normally juvies will shoot up until they hit a certain size, and then growth will slow. With him, it has been a pretty consistent 1/2 inch per month, though now for the last 2 months or so, it seems he has come to a plateau.
