I would love some info these guys, specifically their temperament.

Would a singleton be ok being grown out in a 90g with other milder CA cichlids, and living for life with them (and a few other odd cichlids: Crassipinnis Oscars, Hoplarchus psittacus, Paratilapia) in a 300g+ tank? The other CAs would be a Synspilum pair, a Heterospila, a Pearsei, a Boucourti, a Chuco micropthalmus, an Amphilophus lyonsi, Nics, Thorichthys sp. and Cryptoheros sp.

I had a male that was about 8-9'' that I couldn't keep with anything. This guy was one of the most aggressive fish I have ever owned. He beat up a 12'' syn in a 150g. You might have better luck in that 300g though. He would even try and bite me sometimes.

Ok, good to know. I really like how they look, but if one would be too aggressive I won't do it. Also, the title is a typo, it is just supposed to say "Herichthys deppii"

Anyone else?

The deppi I had years ago was pretty rough on other fish until I moved him into my 180. Definitely didn't like any other fish that looked like him. I wouldn't try it with thorichthys, they will end up getting thrashed.

Yeah they are gorgeous fish. I wonder how they would do w/ some of the big amphs or parachromis. Mine was in w/ a JD, robertsoni, HRPs, syn, male salvin and the only fish he didn't beat up was a smaller a. Rostratus.

Off topic, but you kept A. Rostratus with A. Robertsoni? How did that work, and what size groups did you have of each species? I am considering both species, but wasn't sure how they would do together since they are pretty similar.

I do keep a female of each in the 150g and have for years. This shouldn't work, but they get along. The rostratus fights w/ my female nic constantly though.
