Thank you :) I thik they are coming along very nice!! I wish the front dorsals they didn't come with would regenerate...,.:) Still They are very nice :)

I spoke with Rapps to find out if they were his own stock... And his reply was "Sadly man, no they are not:( They came from Rust'ys pair."

So i am thinking it is something with one of the only breeding pairs available.. Obviously huh :)

I still love em :)

Those kinds of deformations can be environmental (vs. genetic). Kind of like deformed gill plates.

I wonder if his next batch will be the same way.

It also shows that wild fish aren't necessarily "perfect"!

Agreed :) I am hopin I have a pair... If not I am lookin to get more... So we will see :)

Nice photos Tongue33. Herichthys deppii is a species not too many people are keeping.
Herichthys deppii and Herichthys sp "turquoise" are very similar. The main difference being the amount of red near the mouth. Herichthys deppii has alot of red facial markings near the mouth whereas the red facial markings on "turquoise" are near the top of the head.
Hear is a photo of an old sp "turquoise" I used to keep to compare.
