I have a few guppys and a few weeks ago one of the girls started growing this big lump on her belly on the right side. It looks like a hernia, but i don't know if fish can get hernias. So, if anyone knows i would appreciate it.

yeah she was preg, but it was sticking out like a quarter of an inch and it was the as big as a bb around. I don't have pics yet can't fing hardware for camera online.

my molly looks like she ate a lot of gravel, but she's just super pregnant

It doesn't look like she ate pebbles and she didn't look like that when she was pregnant before. It happened just after she had her babies.

so, no one knows if fish can get hernias???:(

It's been a week and nobody has answered my ques. whether or not fish can get hernias. Did I stump yall or something???:grinno:

what else is she doing? Is she eating regularly, are her swim patterns abnormal at all, is she up at the surface more than usual, seem bloated all over, does she seem to wobble when she swims? More info and we'll figure it out - and in a sense, yes fish can get "hernias" but not in the way a human would, and when a fish does, its usually linked to another problem!

She's had the bump for abou two months now and she seems to be ok. She doesn't swim funny or anything. She is eating properly and it doesn't seem to affect her ability to have baby's either. The bump seems to be flattening out. It doesn't seem to be sticking out as much anymore, but its wider now. I'm not sure exactly what to do with her.
