After my tragic lose of my baby notatus I was going to order to more. turns out They did not pack them in my shipment and were said to look not so good. SO I dont know what to do I'm so bummed out.

I need a vote on what to get. its a 100 gal 2 severums 1 EBJD 3 pictus cats and some tetras that will be moved soon. None are any larger then 4". ph 7.4 soft water. I know this tank is not large enough for them all once full grown BUt I will deal with that when the time comes.

Thanks for your votes. If you want let me know why I should pick one fish over the other would be help full.

Not sure on the adult size of an EBJD, but I don't see why three severums wouldn't work in a 100 gallon. I've got six adult severums and a chocolate cichlid in a 210 gallon and there don't seem to be any problems. Just stay on top of water changes and make sure you've got good filtration/circulation.

The only thing to keep in mind is the adult size of a psittacus -- they are considerably larger than a severum.

the psittacus is a pretty mean fish, those severums would be in for a beating, the EBJD too. I had one but gave up on it when it hospitalized three of my other fish, an acara, and two severums, he would always come out of his spot and wouldnt go back until he had bitten everyone in the tank, ive heard other nasty stories about psittacus too, so, beware. i had mine in a 125 with two severums and an acara sp jennara herrara. so, i vote notatus

Thanks guys. I will wait to see what others say.

my psittacus is very chill. the only fish that she ever had a problem with was my severum.

i chose a pisttacus. i love notatus but psittacus are much cooler IMO.

Such a hard pick. Ok if I go with the notatus I have a female severum and a red severum I think male. What sex should I go with for the 3rd or does it matter? I'm thinking a female would be better for the mix.

Looks like the Hop psittiacus is the better deal and price. I'm thinking I will give it a try.

Any more info on the psittiacus would be great since not much is on the web.

Ok I ordered the 3" psittiacus. I'm excited and scared. I'm getting lots of mixed info on their temperment. I hope I get a nice mellow one.

Thanks for the votes and info guys.

you'll be fine :D they are just like severums IMO except they get larger. they are can get HITH quite easily so keep your water clean and they like lower a pH. mine will eat basically anything except she doesnt like veggies but she will eat whole veggie wafers lol
