Heros Beani "Rio Tepic" female @ 7"

If I had a better camera you'd be able to see the colors 'pop' on this fish. You can see the yellow/gold in her from 15 feet away.
She tried breeding with my 10" male Panuco Beani and he killed her sis and pummeled her pretty good.
I agree, that's a very beautiful fish.
On a side note, I didn't know Beani are grouped in the Heros genus.

Thanks. You know what, I'm not really sure what group they are in these days but a guy I respect named Dan Woodland is calling his Heros and I don't think he'd do that without reason. To be honest all the re-naming confuses me and it seems they are not even set in stone today. I've also seen them called exCichlasoma and Nandopsis in the past 2 years. So Heros is fluid..
Thanks. If only I could breed her. Males are really tough on the females. I had a group of 3 females this size and my male killed 2. Question..What would you guys consider fry from a Panuco male and Tepic female? I'm not really trying to breed her and him but I have had a tough time finding affordable mates for either of them and I'm done trying to raise little beani.
