I took this trio out of their respective tamks and placed them in a 40 long to see what happens. So far a lot of digging, hoping for the best...

Nice fish. I have just one that I picked up last year. Mine is a little bigger than yours and has really started to color up lately - I think that they should be really spectacular in breeding colors! :headbang2

They look really nice! Can we get some more info on them? Size of fish, how long you've had them, tankmates before they were moved? I'm assuming they're wild caught.

Also, that looks like a myersi in the background of one of the pics, how did they get along?

I love the many colors and types that Heros come in....add that with generally a peaceful personality for cichlids and they are just an awesome fish to have let alone breed.

I have a much bigger one too that came in w/ my original 5.

They are wild. Had them for maybe 8 or 9 months I guess. They were in separate tanks until now. Kept them w/ uarus, brachybranchus, heroina, retroculus, taeneoparious, and a variety of other GEOS, catfish and places. In their current tank they are sharing w/ a baby wild Myersi and a baby wild spectabilis. That Myersi is really mean in comparison to my other large myersi. My larger male which is hand sized is being kept w/ Cichla grow outs and a hand sized pair of wild spectabilis.
