Heros sp. 'Rotkeil'

:confused: The Rotkeil I bought from Jeff Rapps a couple weeks ago is still not showing any signs of its red head. In fact, it looks like a Heros appendiculatus.

The fish is over four inches right now. I would feel like an idiot emailing and questioning Jeff Rapps, I mean, isn't he THE go to guy for hard to find cichlids? Why would he send me what I didn't order?:(

So, before I embarrass myself and email him (I am new to severums), what do you guys think?

That deffinatly looks like a green to me. A nice looking one though.

I wonder why he didn't tell me he was sending a green? I noticed on his site that he took the "rotkeil" off the stock list right after I ordered. This makes me mad, I even spoke to him on the phone! Man oh man, this guy has a good rep, why couldn't he just tell me if he was out of "rotkeil", so I could at least have ordered another fish!

Seriously, I'm really PO. Yes, it's a nice fish but NOT what I paid for!
 
I hate to pout salt in your wounds, but it looks like a green to me as well.
 
Just emailed him asking what happened, why I didn't get the 'rotkeil' I paid for.

I'll update you guys when I get an answer. BTW, do you think I should ask for a refund or is the $25 I paid for the 'rotkeil' still a good price for a green of this size (4 inches)?
 
I just bought a sp. rotkeil from that fish place in lancaster, pa. @ 2" for $7.50............I love it, and the coloration is great.......anyways your green is still very nice.......:D
