I keep a 30gal at work (ambulance station) and the rainbow cichlids have spawned. Eggs are in a hollowed out tree trunk. I have three in the tank and its pretty obvious who the odd man out is. Should I remove that one to give the breeding pair more room? The pair aren't picking on him but they do keep him on the other side of the tank.

The pair made the decision for me today. Beat the hell out of the other fish so I removed it to a tank at home.
wow! gorgeous!. how did you get yours to spawn? i have my own, but they've never shown the dark coloration like yours. Congratulations.
Had them in the tank for about 2-3 months. Didn't do anything special just weekly water changes. No heater in the tank room temp stays at 72-74F.
