Is it also a standard practice to cut the reptiles in half for photograph purposes to show as proof, to the seller, that they're indeed dead, like the way fishkeeping business does it?

Not that it happened to me but I recently shipped a snake and was going to go that route if the buyer claimed DOA. But the shipping was a success since I did a great job in packaging.

I haven't heard of them being cut in half for proof, but I have seen some policies where they ask you to send a picture of the dead animal completely submerged under water and stuff like that. I suppose cut in half would be a better way to tell if they are truly dead but man...that's a little to morbid even for me.

Never heard. But I am in Europe.

I suppose, if you were crazy, that you could cut a living one and reclaim its cost, if that were so.....

I often see that with turtles. Cut the head off. Just so u dont claim doa when its actually alive. it can be quite hard to establish doa from a pic.

i could cut a snake or lizard in half but i personally couldnt muster it up enough to cut the head off a turtle. ive been told to cut the tail off.

wow! i didnt realise u had to do this with animals. i couldnt do it to any animal...fish or rep...or furry.
