I was wondering about this... how often MFK's Herpers mist/spray their Herps... how much, when, etc.

I spray my Green Tree Frog a lot, my Firebelly Toad a lot, but somewhat less, since he has a water dish. The Ribbon Snake gets an occasional spray, since my room isn't very humid. The tank doesn't retain it, so it doesn't rot his scales. The Leopard Gecko gets sprayed more than most are, since he rarely drinks from the water dish, but he will lick water droplets off surfaces.

What about you guys?

I mist my snakes twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. I make sure everything is covered in water.

Don't spray leos too much. He will drink when he needs a drink just make sure there is water in the dish. They don't need it to be that humid.

I used to think that, but a few weeks ago, after reading how to "test" them for dehydration, I gently moved a flap of skin on his back, and it didn't spring back. I don't spray him much, just once a day, and not much.

^that dehydration trick will work with you too.

i spray down the entire enclosure for my cresteds every day. my BTS gets a little direct sprayin when she sheds. the beardie and leos dont get any.

also for a sprayer, i went and bought one of those things you use to spray bug poison at walmart. works awesome. just pump it up, then it sprays itself. it also holds a gallon of water, which was nice when i had my CWD in a 125.

BP whenever the humidity gets to low, leopard geckos never. Turtle is in a tank of water so..

i mist my redfoot tortoise's tank daily, i make sure the substrate is pretty saturated every time, his water dish is also big enough for him to soak in if he chooses to

I have a humidifier set up on a timer fo my eyelash vipers and I spray my Aviculara metalica every day along with my igguana and frilled dragon. otherwise I don't spray since my house stays humide enough being in FL and having a large aquarium in the house as well as the large water bowls in each enclosure.

Leopard Geckos: light misting once a week.
Ackie Monitors: light misting once or twice a week.
Crested Geckos: heavy misting once a day in the evening
Williamsi Geckos: heavy misting once a day in the morning.
Box Turtles: enclosure sprayed 2-3 times a week.
Pyxie Frog. light misting once or twice a day.
