stoppe dinto an old ma n pop store this afternoon after we noticed are favorite store was out with a sickness
saw this 15 gallon tank with ALL the grvel in a mound, to the rihght of the mound in this 15 gallon was a 10.8in male JD with a sign saying large cichlid 14.99, i asked her to drop the price and she said 8.00 cuz it was a trade in, i of course said sure cuz the thing was beat to crap (tail fins only) as the lady had it in a20 long with 5 convicts from 3-6in total length, needless to say this guy didnt look to good, even more hilarious was the fact that he came to life/colored up in the friggin bag!
got him home and was amazed as i dropped him into an empty 29, a truly show fish
even with a ripped tail , he will b at least a 1/2in longer with the tale, this guy must be over 5 years old
he allrdy ate some rosy's and started pushing gravel, he can easily consume a quarter and his mouth is about 2in diameter
on top of that i stopped bye this ladys house and picked up a 100 (72long 18 wide 18high) for 85 bux! complete with glass lids and oak trim! 5 years old so im scraping the silicone and allrdy got two bottles to replace the old sealant. Im so hyped, i finally have a tank for my community, a pair of 6in occelaris pbass, my 6in marbled sleeper, the 10in jd and my jardini, that committed suicide as i was gone.....
now i gotta tell oddballer...
i mite buy a new one but i gotta find a new 6incher....
this will be an awesome tank, should i do river rock or black estes? filtration ideas?
