I got two Plecos last night. OK I am kinda worried about one of them... First of all, I got them form that "Smart Pet" store. They were the only two there except for one dead one so I know it wasn't a good sign but I figured if I didn't get them they would surely be dead anyway. Anyway, one of them is sorta floating at the top by the glass. He will swim away if I try to touch him but he doesn't seem well. HE will kinda half suction to the glass but still float up if you know what I mean. I added a bit of aquarium salt because thats all I know to do. I don't want to kill a fish. What to do???? Please help
He was just floating upside down in the water so I got the Lee's Breeder contraption and put him and an algae wafer in it and turned off the tank lights. He is not looking good at all. How can I save this guy? I can't leave the house to go get anything if I needed to because my child is already in bed. What to do?!?!?:(:(

Anyone? Please!!! Jesus man he is just floating on his side moving a fin every now and then. It's horrible!!!

i would say turn off the lights and keep him in the refuge and if he is still alive go get some strees coat from api tommorow

He's gone! I have never lost a fish before.... This is heart breaking man. I know he is a fish but man that was freakin painful to watch and imagine what he must have been going through. I am bummed.

I know it's sad but that's our hobby. You can expect dead fish alot. I suggest that next time you should really quarantine any fish especially those that look sick already.

These are my first Pleco's. Should it have been a sign when I first put them in the tank, I had some algae wafers in there and they didn't even touch them? I am worried about the other one now. The one I just lost had better color than the one thats left. When he died he lost ALL color immediately! Anyway should it have been a sign that they didn't touch the wafers?

Most of my plecs when first introduced to the new aquarium won't eat for at least a day.
Couple that with the fact that they are nocturnal, not eating right away should not worry you. I'm sorry for your loss.
