I just walked into my kitchen to see my ropefish laying on the floor, I thought he could still be alive but when I picked him up he was completely stiff and dry, I don't know how he escaped, I sealed all the gaps

Sorry for your loss....I actually just lost mine two days ago. Went to feed and noticed he wasn't in his normal cave. Searched the filter and a coulple other hides then started looking around the outside of the tank. He was behind the tank stand completely stiff and dried out in a perfect S shape. Ropefish are one of my absolute favorites, I just hate them trying to escape all the time.

That happened to a friend of mines Morey eel found it stiff behind the tank, put him back in the tank and he was just fine.

I don't think if I put him back in he would be ok though, he was completely stiff and in and s shape

Yeah, put him back in. They thaw sometimes. Would you NOT perform CPR on your Grandpa just because he wasn't moving?
