This male Green Terror has a long history of being "single". I raised him from an egg and throughout his 2 years since maturing, has never been with a female. Well now it's happened. I managed to find a 'lady' for him and, if he could smile, would have a grin "from ear to ear", I'm sure. This is the same male that has been responsible for firming up pair bonds for Caquetaia kraussi and Hoplarchus psittacus pairs. He is the one who has been feverishly courting a female Geophagus abalios for the past year and who spent time guarding part of a spawn which he stole from a pair of 'kraussi'. This was a desperate, frustrated, but well meaning male. Well, it looks like that's all is about to change. His relationship with the new female is heating up. He is taking his time, being cool about it, but I suspect a spawn will take place within the next couple of days. And then there's the pair in my outdoor pond guarding fry. Here's a video of the "amorous one" in action.
