Hex out of control need advice pic included

Ok iv been force feeding this guy with food and a epson salt solution for 3 days, so fare no progress. I would like to start treating with some meds but my problem is my tank is 150g and the only meds they sell at my LFS are 20$ for 100g so for a 4 day treatment it would run me 140$ and it would be a gamble any ways with how bad he his. So my question is, I have a 20g bucket if I put gravel a heater and a bubbler in the bucket and transfer this guy and treat with meds could this work? Any opinions are welcome.

Yes, the bucket would work, but you'll need some seeded biomedia from the 150.

What would be the best way to get some media in?

You can always use a clear pop bottle put the media in and run a air stone in through the bottom so the media is moving continuously . A 20 gallon pail should work I have use Rubbermaid totes

What are you using for bio media?

I use way more ceramic rings than I actually need just for these type of scenarios. If I need to set up a qt/sick tank, I would just grab a bunch of these seeded ceramic rings and use it in the filter for the qt/sick tank......instant cycle.
