whats the best/ easy/ profitable fish to breed that can fit in a 55 gallon?

Convict Cichlids, classic.

Probably dwarf cichlids would be your best bet if you want some resale value. But to tell you the truth your not going to make much if any off of them after the cost of running the fry tanks, buying all the food, ect. Small scale breeding like that should be done more out of fun.
