Up to now I've only been able to find small bits of info on these fascinating fish.
I tried to keep 2 of these guys (both tau) - killed them both VERY quickly though - but now I know it wasn't ALL my fault. The fish were sold as fresh-water specimens! I did some "net-digging" before I bought both of them and even asked the vendors if they should be kept in salt or at least brackish but both said NO! Both vendors said the fish would be fine in fresh. 1 was, I think a very reputable vendor in NJ, Absolutely Fish.
I found this last very strange since AF regularly keeps scorpionfish in full salt, has amazing fresh and salt specimens, great plant selection and really knows their sht. I guess it all comes down to a lack of info on these unusual fish.
