Hey everyone test kit

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive seen those before along with live PH monitors but they where always way to much money for a short use. It looks like yours says 6weeks for 15$? Thats a better deal than what I've seen in the past so please do report on it. Make sure to compare results to dip strips for comparison.

I also got another I'll post a pic of that one. It was cheaper. Petsmart also has their plants on sale for 2.99 with your card. I'll test the kit tonight or tomorrow see how it fairs. I have to see how much the refills are for this kit.

Yeah you place it in your tank and walk away. So it reads 24/7. Which I thought for people if it works would be neat. Tells you temperature... ph.... and ammonia. Last up to 6 weeks. Also has a little date thingy on it to tell you when you actually put it in. I still haven't looked into the refills.

Wow I've never seen one, but just be careful not to rely on it as a w/c reminder........

OK so I remember correctly I did a water change last week. So far the ammonia levels are correct... I'm at 0 .... In the process I dropped my glass test tube to show my pic. Sucks but so far correct. I do have the fluval x5 and I have a wet dry system. http://www.onedersave.com/ I have 2 large stone from here. With some plants in a breeder net to keep koi from eating. I also toss in pond pads in the wetdry. Its a barley straw treatment. If I toss in the tank the fish break it up faster. Also my tank is over stocked lol. Which is why I'm trying to hurry up with the 150 stand. So as of right now it works. I'll test again in a few days.:headbang2

I've always wondered about these things. Noone at all buys these at my store, I'm surprised they haven't gone bad yet or something. Does one measure nitrate? I could care less about ammonia or nitrite or PH just nitrate. Will have to look into it if I ever remember.

Says it takes both nitrate and nitrite to get ammonia level *shrug* The other tester i got was from seachem which was like 7 buck it says it last up to a year and you can buy for the actual testing you want done. That will be my next one to test out. I'm also thinking it would help when you go away stick in tank and when someone comes to feed your fish they just look at it and tell you the levels. Giving you an idea of how your tank is doing while your away. Or if something did happen you would know why it happened. Not everyone has the money to spend but if it will save you more in the end..... So worth it if it works.

The API master freshwater test kit costs 33% more and lasts 398539 times longer.
