Hey everyone, I am new to this site and also new to fish keeping. So far I have had an Aquarium for about a month now and i have a lot of questions. It is a 90g freshwater tank that my uncle had gave to me. It is not a planted tank and I only have 8 small fish and just got 2 Bala sharks. I am using a Emperor 400 as the only filtration (and is this enough filtration?). There is also a lot of brown alge that has quickly formed, can eveyone help me with this and give me some advise on how to keep a clean and healthy tank?

hey im new too your algae problem could be helped by getting a pleco or some small crabs or crayfish but if you only have that many fish in 90gal and its getting algae already you might want to use this product by tetra company i got mine for half off it gets some good bacteria in your tank and other natural things that take care of algae and whatnot

and just do a 25% water change every week but that tetra brand stuff i told ya about says it can reduce that to like 6 weeks

Thanks everyone and the tank isnt in sunlight but the light is on from 0800 to 2000. Is that too long?

Ok, ive been feeding them about an hour before lights out but i have a Kuhli loach and some cory cats and i was told that since they are nocturnal that i needed to feed right before lights out.
