Hey there

My name is Stefan! Just joined up so I thought I would say hi. I just joined the site because I started a tank with some unique fish and wanted to know how best to take care of them. I know all the basics but I want to keep learning. Me and my roommate Mark started this tank about two weeks ago. It has a Sailfin pleco, a red tail shark, an angelfish, a baby fire eel, and a reed fish. We will also be adding another reed fish soon as well as a black ghost knifefish. Any thoughts or comments are more than welcome

Id be worried about the pleco sucking the slime on the reedfish (ropefish)

Thanks for the suggestion guys.

I hadn't even thought about the shark and the angel not getting along. They are all still young and happy haha.

As far as the pleco and the rope fish, I will definitely keep a close eye on those two and if any trouble arises, I will get rid of the pleco. Are there any other good algae eaters that would work well in our tank?

How big is this tank, from my previous poor judjments i would advice a long term plan before you invest any more mony, time and fish. Think how big (fish full grown and tank), how will each get along now and in the future. Imo a good gameplan is the best thing for your tank. Or as your fish get bigger youll end up like me with 7 tanks. Lol

My tank is 29 gallons. I have already determined that I need to switch out the fire eel for a peacock or a zig zag.

That BGK you want will be a foot long, so that's a no go without a bigger tank.
