When I got my 55g cichlid tank going in January of this year, I was thrilled that I'd also be able to merge my love of photography with my new hobby! I'm also excited about this site and seeing the photos you guys all take.
I wouldn't call myself even an amateur photographer, but I'm learning what I can when I can. Right now, I have a Canon G3, my 3rd digital camera over the past three years. I'd love to add a 420ex speedlight soon, but probably don't have the ca$h for it (heck, while I'm dreaming, I'd love to add a 10D with lenses). So, I'm stuck with experimenting with how best to use my G3 to take pics. Right now I'm working with a reduced flash setting and manual focus (of course). Oh, and I've got mbuna in my tank, with a couple Botia macracanthus and a Synodontis eupterus. Check out my little gallery at http://tnich.fotopic.net/show_collection.php?id=90935. Thanks!
