Hey...new to MFK. I've been keeping CA cichlids (and one Severum) for about 2 years now. I keep an overstocked 55 gallon currently and am in the design phase for a DIY 300 gallon all glass tank. I had my first Firemouth fry about 3 weeks ago, but they disappeared over the course three days. Since I don't have room for more fish yet, I'm not too unhappy about them being gone. Cool breeding behavior and coloration though.
I am also in the process of setting up a non-profit company assisting foster kids in the area with independent living skills and projects while having fun and promoting teamwork. One of the projects that we'll be doing is creating a breeding farm in the hopes of relying less on donations. We'll also be building and designing custom and stock tanks for sale with the same goal. I have NO experience breeding fish, but I figure with enough research, work, and trial-and-error, I can figure it out.
