Im looking for a tank mates to go with my 2 oscars, that are in a 75 grow out atm but I am planning my new set up and plan to have it all good to go within 4-6 mo. here Is the tank,

It will be used as a room devider and Im having the manufacturer put the overflows on the ends of the tank instead of the back. Im torn, I was planning on haveing 4 Oscars, or 2 Oscars and a Silver arro. But im not quite sure if this tank will be able to house an aro for the next few years, much less with a pair of oscars. This will be my last tank for quite a while so I dont want to get somthing that will flat out outgrow it. So should I go snag some more O's to grow up with the 2 I have or should I go get that cute lil 4" aro down at the LFS?

I assume your talking about a silver aro? No, a 72x24" tank is not going to work for a silver aro for life. This is only my opinion based on my experience though. There are several here that have kept silvers in that size tank for many years, poor aros:(

BTW keeping a 4" aro with oscars will likely end up with you having a dead aro.

theres a thread on that JUST now, i dont know why people dont like to read...

Anyways, silver wont last more than a year in a 75.

Did you read, and have a look at the link:grinno:

Well I guess for the aro's sake Ill just house a nice fat group of Oscars in the 215 and wait untill I get a mondo MONSTER tank to grow out an aro. And yea I would agree with you that O's would kill a 4" arro but the O's are only 3" themselvs atm. Thanks anyhow guys! I appreciate the advice :)

i had a 3" o attacking my 6" aro...no serious damage...i let it go til the aro was 9" then the 5" o made the aro injure itself on a driftwood piece in the tank...o when to the store aro is still in the tank....
