hey everyone! want to say first that this is an awesome web site that i will be able to spent hours on. i am wanting to start being a mfk through stingrays, i saw them in a tank and i fell in love with them. so anyone willing to tell me the best place to start i would be much appreciated!

Welcome. Tell us about your experience keeping fish.

I am also looking at getting a ray for my tank. Just a thought though. I have a peacock bass and other cichlids have seen some together but don't know. I am looking in the next couple years to get a tank about 400 gallons so I will be able to grow them out more. Right now its a 125 so it would start out in there. I am thinking I want to do a few fish larger size rather than lots of smaller fish and such.

Rays need huge tanks. 4 x 4 would be a minimum IMO. Are you willing to have a tank that big?

Yeah i agree to above posts too they require a lot of frequent water changes, attention, and some kickass filtration.

The stickies would be your best bet to start looking.

I waited two years before i got one male motoro stingray.

Stickies is def. a great start.
