cichlid city
Im not really the super expert on african cichlids, because i was always into the big tank busting americans.I just got a 50 gallon octagon aquarium,is their any kind of african you would recomend for this tank. Its a pretty big size octagon.

meh... if it is a hex, it likely wont be that great for africans. As stated we need to know the height and say max width.

24 inches high ,20 inches long and 20 inches wide.

Heres pics,I just recently set it up.I bought the whole setup for 10 bucks. Its a 50 gallon.

tanks not good at all for africans you could prlly do a few yellow labs but would look good at all why not just do a planted tank

ok,but whats the fun in pet plants:confused:

Good idea ikevi. Get some fish that won't outgrow it, and will use all the water, not just swim in circles. If you wanted to keep cichlids, you should have gotten a 50/55G long, not a hex.

just to echo everyone else, its not a good setup for africans-they need length to a tank as they like to swim alot. Though, it would be great for discus! (well, i have always wanted discus but lack the perfect tank) or like mike said--shellies.
