so i have been keeping smaller mbuna and peacocks and such and i have alwasy wanted to keep keep a big preadtor and soon i should have a 55 open so what could i do with it? i just dont know small preadotrs or a big one? or what?

You could try gulper catfish if you like that one although it is expensive.

Well, if you do like to view only one fish in your tank, gulper is a good choice. Anything else will be eaten even if they happen to be 2/3 of the body size of the gulper catfish.

You could go with an african brown knife or maybe a school of exodon paradoxus
 
I would have to say if you are looking for preds, there are lots of piranha to choose from.
 
I would stick to one gulper.
Gulpers can eat fish twice their length or more (one guy had a ratio of 3":7.5") if it is noodle shaped. I say gulper
