I'm about to set up my first fresh water sump. My main tank will be 120 gallons, 4ft by 2ft by 2ft. My sump is going to be 70 gallons, 4ft by 20in by 18in. Any helpful ideas or tips?

Hello Nick,

I am new here too, so welcome from one newbie to another.

I was wondering what type of fish you are planning stock your tank with?

Any idea on the type of equipment you are thinking of using, pumps, bio media, lighting. How about substrate? Also is your tank equipped with factory overflows?

I wish you luck,

Kraig

Welcome aboard.

One suggestion, Make sure you have enough room above your sump to easily get your plumbing, and equipment in and out if you have too.

I put a 38G under my 150G and knew it was going to be tight but I can't get into it the way I'd like and I have 6" between the top of the sump and the bottom of the stand.
