Hey, just joined! I have been a fish fanatic since I was seven. I have always had a tank and slowly worked my way up from a bowl to my 55 gallon tank. I've always been succesful with my tanks and have never had any serious problems. I've raised fish for eight years now and consider my self an experienced fish owner. I like to try communities of fish that bend the rules of nature, like goldfish and anglefish (It works well). But after about 5 years of owning all of the freshwater community fish species you can name I decided to bump it up a level and try an easy monster fish a firemouth and a jack dempsey. I did well so I sold them and got two of my favorite fish, oscars! when I got them they were 2 inches of pure awesomeness. About six months later (they are now 6in long) The bigger more dominant oscar literally bit a huge chunk out of the other oscars head! I thought the other oscar would surely die but after spending 3-4 months in the I.C.T (intensive care tank) he made a full recovery even though he swims in a crooked line. Today they are about 7-8 inches long and are still growing. I also have an eight inch long pleco and chinese sucker. All my fish are healthy, big, and growing!
