hey guys cool space here. still getting the hang of it so it's fun. i deleted all my social media few years ago so i just come here to hangout + see what's good w/other mfk's. i use to go on here maybe every few months or so when i 1st found the site maybe 2012 but never made an account, cool for research still.
anyways i used to have more tanks but now just trying to keep it simple...or i guess just a little less work with the 3 tanks i'm running now. the 1st tank is a 65g w/ catlocarpio siamese carp, loach, 3 h. wetmorei, baby tor, baby spinibarbus, + shortbody ryukin. planning to move the tor & spinibarbus out later but all is peaceful + everyone is eating now so no complaints. 2nd tank is the zacco platypus which is my favorite fish other than aros, another loach, a little ram cichlid i got w/some discus frys, a giant gourami, and a puntius t barb in a 40g. I got a new discus fry refugium so i'll probably keeping it in this tank since i do less maintenance on it. so far i have 8 little frys and will add them in a 10g whenever they're good..then eventually their own tank.
it's weird though my 65g has 3 filters running on it & the 40g only has 1 and the 40g maintenance is super easy. the 65g has a canister filter + 2 hang on filters and really just now getting cycled again after changing this tank from an arowana tank to community tank. when i had the aro in here i had loose rocky gravel substrate & only ran the canister + 1 hang on w/out media just for extra water flow. When i made it a community i wanted a new look so i changed the substrate to like a finer gravel but then i noticed that it was super hard to maintain?? i added more filters and 1 after another til i'm at 3 now & i think it's finally stable now after about 2 - 3 months, lol after i changed the substrate back to the original..
anyways just getting ready to do this 3rd tank.. my first try with like an indoor pond style from an IBC container i got a few months ago. i finally got it cleaned up & just got some aros for her. looking fwd to sharing pics when she's up & running.
anyways though i don't really know you guys but just wanted to say hey & introduce myself since i been here a bunch lately. i talked to mike at aquascapeonline few times on some orders + deadliestviper has been cool too as well as a few others. good times though + look forward to learning more & sharing cool stuff on fish. thx for the help/advice & hit me up anytime amramz79@gmail.com + whatsApp 773-818-0444 if you guys ever in Denver.
