my lfs has a very juvenile one. not really attractive, instead of circle like yellow spots it has blue spots. 120 is the price, its eating, but they keep it thin, dent in head and bones in hip. i made them feed her just now, so i know she's eating aggressivly. also she has tail fungus, on the tip. if i decided to buy here i'd wait to see if she cant beat the fungus. but has anyone see this type of morph? my tank is only a 100 gal, she would outgrow fast, but i was thinking that i'd grow her up and sell her, will these spots ever turn or will she be attractive to the eye, right nows she looks like she's been beaten with an ugly amazonian plant!! lol

How long have they had it? If it eats aggressively, and is still thin, it could signal parasites. If it looks like the pic attached, it's a blue spotted ray.....saltwater.

its a freshwater ray, they only feed frozen bloodworms 1x a day and not many at that, its been there around 3 weeks. i noticed your pic is a saltwater blue spot. this is a motoro morph, well they are selling it as a motoro ray

where are you talking about? I live in delaware. Which fish store is this?

i live in va, i will see if it can beat the tail fungus thing first, i have 2 decent size retics now and i dont want them sick, then i'll go buy it

That's funny, I thought toenails were a balanced part of a complete breakfast, haha...just kidding. Yah, fungus isn't usually an issue if you keep your own water conditions clean. Salt does the trick in the concentration that David listed above. Getting the ray on more substantial foods is a must in order to have the ray gain weight and flourish.

what kind of salt, table salt, also this ray doen't have many spots, maybe 4 on her back and of course more around her wings, will she develop more? or what i see is what i get?

Aquarium or Kosher salt....Table salt contains iodine which is a no-no. As far as the pattern goes, what you see is it.
