My devilxmidas is outgrowing my oscar. When I got them the oscar was around 3in an my devil around 1 1/2in.Now there both around 6 inches. They both eat hikari bio-gold, talapia filets and shrimp like champs. But the devil has been growing like a weed. Poop looks fine, water reads good and is crystal clear. I have been doing 40% water changes every four days to promote rapid growth. But the oscar seems to be growing really slow. Oh yeah there in a divided 90 that will soon be the oscars to itself when the 75 is finished cycling.

There's really no hard and fast rule on the growth rate of any species of fish. It's all up to the individual. Several factors contribute to their growth: amount and types of foods, water quality, temperature, parameters, and of course genetics. As long as you're feeding them well and keeping up with your water changes, they'll grow to their potential. Some take longer than others. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
