Saw this site mentioned on Cichlid-Forum today, so i decided to check it out. I keep Geos, discus, Tanganyikans, darters, all kinds of pleco, and a bunch of other stuff. I've worked at a LFS for over 3.5 yrs, and am interning this summer in the Freshwater Resources division of Texas Parks and Wildlife... So I've seen plenty of Monster fish in my days. I'm also a member of the Hill Country Cichlid Club which is one of the coolest and most knowledgable clubs around, but hey, i'm a little bised. httgp://hillcountrycichlidclub.com

One more thing... I have a breeding pair of Geophagus iporangensis and need to communicate with anyone else out there that keeps them or knows anything other than the scant info that's out there on them. I'm looking for morphological differences with G. brasiliensis and the like. I even have a few I could sacrifice in the name of science to get some answers.

Now I'm off to see what y'all are all about...

You want field pics, you got em. I won't bore you with too many, though.

This is me throwing a rope in our swift water rescue training. Check out the scenery, it's the San Marcos River, and is absolutely beautiful (spring fed). That's about a 5 minute drive from my office at Aquarena Springs (origin of the river) and the hatchery.

This is us seining for darters and other minnows a little bit down river (I'm in the green hat). We also caught a baby pleco down there, yep there's a large breeding population, and now it's in my darter tank at home.

This last one is a male Blacktail Shiner (Cyprinella venusta) in breeding color.

Once my Orangethroat Darters color up, I'll post some pics of them, but they're still young.
