Hello Everyone,
not sure quite what i should be saying here,
So why not with why i'm interested in fish keeping, a while ago i was fishing in one of my secret freshwater fishing holes, and was watching the local redfin perch population darting in and out of there natural holes, and quietly feeding in the water, i sat there for about hour just watching them.
And now from subsquent trips to most of the local pet stores, and aquarium specialty stores, i've decided i have to get some fish of my own.
My familys, had quite a few fish in the past, but i've never taken an interest in them, They've had goldfish, Those tiny little fighting fish with the big tails, Neon Tetra's, Guppies, and a majority of the common household fish.
Thing is, They don't interest me in the slightest, i guess from fishing to me, they seem a little to much like bait compared to a pet...
So i came here, I have alot of interest in the more predatory fish, to me they tend to seem more intelligent, and alot more interesting.

If you actually read all of that, thanks alot for reading, so hi :)

Welcome! Sounds like you're ready for what's next.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I hope so, even when fishing i avoid hurting fish more then nessescary, and feel bad enough as it is if i kill them accidentally.
So kinda worried i might kill my first fish.

The best way to kill fish is to learn nothing. If you read up on a fish that you are interested in and understand basic water care, your fish will usually be fine. That said, do start with fish known to be hardy. There's nothing worse that failing right out of the gate. Here's a good tip: Don't go the pet shop and buy a random fish. Go and see what you like, write down the name and go learn about its needs first. Get a tank ready, then introduce the fish. And make sure you've got it cycled first. This can take weeks if you use pure ammonia and have no starter culture, but if you know someone with a healthy tank, you can take some of the muck from their filter and jump start the whole thing.

Yeah mate, Trust me will be researching the fish well in advance of purchase, and plan to have the tank ready healthy, with the live plants and have it fully cycled first.
Sadly enough, all those that i know with fish are about 4000 kilometres away (or 2500 miles)

welcome to mfk.. the best thing you can do here is remember to ask us if you are in doubt about something.. we are here to help.. always... and eventually you will be helping others too.. enjoy MFK
