Great site full of information and more importantly experiences from people who have actually done it or in the process of doing it
Although we have limited experience with monster tanks and monster fish, we do have a happy tank with a Giant Gourami and 4 flagtails and are about to try our hand at building our monster tank in a retail environment which we hope will give our business a point of difference.
Details are a little sketchy atm but we are thinking that external walls will be approximately 3mt long * 2.2mts wide * up to 2.5mts high (though we don't have to fill it to the top as ideally we don't want to use lids and don't want the fish jumping)
Initially we were thinking that we would fill it with kois but we are now having second thoughts as kois are best viewed from the top down and this setup is more a side view design.
We plan is to post a separate thread on the forum and hope for as much assistance as possible. We think it will be a fun exercise for us as the design will present a lot of obstacles that we will need to overcome. Add that a retail design build period of 4 6 months for the shop and I think we are in for a rocky but educational and rewarding ride.
